This is what goes on when momma's at work...

I headed back to work a couple weeks ago. But Camille's been having fun. Mike took a week off to be with her and they enjoyed themselves. He dressed her up as a lady bug for Halloween. Bosco was glad that Camille took one for the team and he didn't have to wear a silly costume. We had 150+ trick-or-treaters including a scary Joker and his Olympian friend (very brave Olympian friend.) That's actually Bill and Angie. I'll cut Bill some slack on his costuming choices as he is heading to Iraq soon. Mike wore his Mongol helmet (complete with real goat horns, yuck!) that our friend Steve brought back from Afghanistan.

Well, it wasn't all hijinks and debauchery while I was back at work. Mike took Camille on her first hike. Aiea Loop trail. They were joined by Marek and Nathaniel Wojcik, but of course the only pictures are of the dogs, Bosco and his new friend Patches Wojcik (note the wagging tails.)

Busy week for baby

Camille had her two month check up complete with shots. She did very well. Cried for a minute (she had one of those red-faced, breath-holding, I'm seriously angry cries which prompted one of the nurse to sit her up and get a little nervous!) but otherwise had a good visit with Dr. Dai.

Camille's first 5k! Mike, Camille and I did the Race for the Cure. Valerie Vedder, a survivor, had formed a team and after the race hosted a nice brunch. We saw lots of friends and coworkers there. I ran with Brenda Stryjewski as her husband, Marek and their son, Nathaniel joined Timm & George Vedder and Mike & Camille speeding ahead knocking over innocent runners along the way. Even the Savels - with their three 5 year olds, Camille's weekday family, completed the 3 plus miles!

I headed back to work :( after two months at home with Camille. She did very well at the Savel's house and was entertained (if not a bit worn out) by all the activity. I got back into the swing of things at the Peds Clinic and managed not to cry. Overall smoother then I could have hoped!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Camille, just like her dad, likes to keep moving. Wheither it is doing "laps" around the living room, around the neighborhood in the baby bjorn (a true god send) or rolling along in her baby jogger she is happiest when she is in motion.

Bosco is pretty easy going about the whole new baby situation. He definitely is up for a spin with the baby but also has had some quality time out on real trails with Mike mountain biking and hiking. Camille and I aren't quite ready for those adventures though.

Lucky for me, they both like their down time as well. Gotta recharge at some point! (Camille enjoying mirror and tummy time)

(peace and quiet!)

Camille's arrival

Camille Kailani arrived kicking and screaming on August 22 at 0145. After a night of no sleep she greated several guests: Timm & Valerie Vedder, Paul & Sherry Clark, Ronnie Rooks, Steve Birchfield, Brenda Nathaniel & Marek Wojick, Tonya Kratovil and Jean Hoffman. Busy day. Nurses checked on us around the clock and everything went smoothly so it was wonderful to get home the next morning to some piece and quiet. Bosco met Camille and seemed pretty interested, but not too pushy.

Mike and I spent a week getting Camille settled in and learning to be parents. Mike had to go back to work after a week so my mom, Susan, came to help when Camille was 15 days old. Mom accompanied us to Camille's two week check up with Dr. Sarah Lentz-Kapua. Camille had surpassed her birth weight and was given a clean bill of health. Mom also helped keep the household from falling apart (our refridgerator has never been so clean!), held Camille when I needed a break and we had a nice visit. We had quite a few visitors those first few weeks: Liz, Valerie, Timm & George, Leah, Taylor & Odin, Anjali, Neity, Rita, Rene & Reica, Bill & Angie. Lots of people brought us yummy food which was very much appreciated. Mike's mom, Iligene, then came to meet Camille. By this point Camille was able to hold her head up somewhat. Iligene held Camille 24-7, well not quite, but definitely helped me check up on some sleep. The grandmas will be missed!
